On photo days, I watch the radar like a hawk, but sometimes those raindrops are sneaky and decide to show up even when we aren’t expecting it! That was the case for Constance and Alex’s maternity portrait session in downtown Warren, but they were such troopers and honestly didn’t even care that it was raining. This was my first time meeting these two, who are friends with CKP couple Rachel and Jack. Being friends with the Tricketts, I already knew they were going to be amazing! And they absolutely were! We met at the historic City Hall in Warren, where I have photographed many times over the years. Well I discovered a secret little garden tucked away in the back that I have never noticed before, which was such a fun surprise! There were two massive rhododendron bushes blooming in the back of the parking lot, and they made such a gorgeous backdrop for these portraits. We were shooting for maybe ten minutes before we felt the first raindrops, but Constance and Alex were so laid back and didn’t mind getting wet at all. I will ALWAYS be such a fan of rainy sessions! The soft lighting adds such a special vibe to portraits, and is quite dreamy. We took cover under the porch at city hall for a few minutes when the rain really picked up, then decided to just go for it and keep shooting in the rain. We ended our time together with a few shots in the courthouse square downtown, with the last light of the evening.

Constance and Alex, I can’t wait to meet your baby girl in just a couple months!! You two are going to be amazing parents, and I’m so honored to capture these special milestones as you begin growing your family!
