As a photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing countless intimate moments for families and couples, but there’s something incredibly special about documenting a family’s journey as they await a new addition. These recent maternity portraits with Ashley and Zach were no exception. Tucked into the quiet woods of Cortland, OH, this session was all about celebrating the anticipation and excitement that come with welcoming a little one into the world. Baby Girl will be arriving in September, and oh how I am already looking forward to meeting this little babe! No doubt she is going to be an adventurer like her parents. Hearing these two share their story almost feels like watching an amazing romantic movie! They met in D.C., eloped in Harpers Ferry, celebrated their wedding in Positano, lived in Miami, and have now found themselves back in Ashley’s Ohio hometown to start their family.

Ashley and Zach’s new home is such a fun midcentury modern style, and I was practically skipping around the house finding all the fun little nooks and spaces to use for their portraits! They have decorated it so beautifully, and baby’s nursery is jaw-dropping! Ashley’s casual style was perfect for an in home session, and man these two were just so fun to hang out with and get to know. We chased down some golden hour light on the road outside their house, and I don’t think I can decide which images are my favorite. I tried to narrow it down to a few!
