Surprise Proposal on Schenley Bridge | Pittsburgh PA

engagement session at Schenley Park Pittsburgh PA

The shock! The tears! The surprise! Tessa had no clue what was happening when she turned around after putting a lock on the iconic Schenley Bridge in Pittsburgh to see Sal pulling a ring out of his pocket and going down on one knee. She was under the impression that she and her boyfriend were just spending the day in Pittsburgh with his sister and her husband, when in reality the whole thing was a cover to ask her to marry him! Sal’s sister Maria helped with the logistics of pulling off this surprise for her little brother, and everything went off without a hitch.

From my spot on the Schenley Bridge near Phipps Conservatory, I saw them park their cars and start walking towards the bridge – totally unsuspecting! Tessa and Sal walked right past me as I pretended to be photographing the landscape and city views, and I watched as they clicked a lock on to join the others covering the yellow metal bridge. Tessa turned around to find Sal pulling out a ring, and she immediately burst into tears! Once the ring was on her finger, family members swarmed around them to hug them and scream in joy! Facetimes were made, champagne was popped, and so many joyous memories were captured. Once the initial chaos calmed down, we walked over to nearby Schenley Park, where we captured the most beautiful sunlit portraits of Tessa and Sal! These two got to soak in all the joy and love of such a special day for them, and we had such a great time hanging out and snapping these pictures.

Congratulations to you Tessa and Sal! I am so happy I got to come be a part of this wonderful surprise – your faces say it all! Best day ever!
