When Joann and Dimitri booked me to photograph their Youngstown wedding next year, they asked if I’d be able to come to New York City where they live for an NYC engagement session in the fall. Well the stars aligned with our schedules, and I was able to do just that! The weekend I arrived in NYC was the first weekend in what felt like forever that it wasn’t rainy in the city….in fact, it was 80 degrees and sunny! At the end of October! Definitely not standard fall weather, but it was so nice to have the warm sunshine with us for a day of city adventuring. Joann and Dimitri picked some of their favorite spots in Brooklyn and Manhattan to take photos, and we had so much fun together taking in the sights and getting to know each other.

We visited the iconic Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo, which is also right by Jane’s Carousel. Including the restored carousel was a fun nod to Dimitri’s Youngstown roots, where the carousel was originally built for Idora Park! What a piece of history, I was so excited to get to see the carousel for myself. The Brooklyn neighborhood gave so many stunning views of the city skyline as well. After wandering the charming Dumbo area, we headed over to Central Park, which was in prime foliage the last weekend of October. We stopped by the Bethesda fountain and Bethesda terrace, which I think may have been my favorite spots in the whole city! Just gorgeous. We ended our evening in the one and only Times Square, with it’s neon flashing lights and crowds galore. NYC is definitely an exciting place, and I’m so glad I was able to make Joann and Dimitri’s NYC engagement session dreams come true! We left our weekend together as great friends, and I know their June wedding is going to be an amazing celebration!
