When Ashley contacted me about planning a fall family session this year, I immediately loved her idea. Her husband Chris’s family has a property in Berlin Center that has been in the family for years, where they have made countless memories with their loved ones. Acres and acres of beautiful fields and farmland, and we hit peak October foliage that was so lovely. This is even where Chris proposed to Ashley over a decade ago! I just love a meaningful location for sessions, and this one was definitely a special one. The family will be selling the property soon, and so getting to go back here once more to soak it all in was so important for them.

Ashley and I first met years ago when she signed up for a coaching session with me! And now she is an incredible newborn and family photographer and I am so proud to see her thriving in her art. Getting to see her again and capture her own family was an honor. The day of our session ended up having some rain, but we were prepared to roll with it because rescheduling anything in October is no easy feat in the photography world! I am so glad we stuck with our plan, because after shooting in the rain for just a few minutes, the skies cleared and gave us the most beautiful evening. We walked around the Truitt farm just soaking it all in. Owen and Hayden are the sweetest kiddos, and seeing them just explore the beauty around them made for the most beautiful portraits. Owen caught a grasshopper in the field, Hayden loves blowing dandelions with her mama, and Chris and Ashley just got to have fun alongside their kids. We ended our evening together with a pizza on the tailgate of their truck – something Ashley said they do every time they visit the farm, and she always wishes she had a photo of it. We caught so many special moments together, and I know the Truitts will cherish these memories for years to come 🧡
