Anniversary Portrait Session at The Butler Institute of American Art | Rachel + Dan

Ten years ago, Rachel and Dan celebrated their wedding day and the start of their forever. They shared their First Look and captured their wedding portraits inside one of Youngstown Ohio’s most iconic locations, The Butler Institute of American Art. This museum is full of so many treasures, and the exterior and interior are both such a timeless aesthetic that are the perfect backdrop for portraits, no matter the occasion. When Rachel reached out about planning their annual fall photoshoot, she mentioned the idea of getting fancy and going back to the museum since it is such a special place for her and Dan. Of course I loved this idea! Locations with meaning to them are always my favorite. And whenever they travel to a new city, Rachel and Dan make a point of visiting a museum to explore. So this was really such a fabulous idea! Rachel chose a red velvet number that was the perfect choice for the museum, and Dan donned his suit to compliment Rachel perfectly. My absolute favorite personal touches: Rachel wore the pear necklace and high heels she wore on their wedding day back in 2013! It all came together so beautifully, and the O’Neills looked like an art exhibit in their own right. This was such a lovely way to commemorate a decade of marriage, and I’m so glad we got to go back to where it all started. Happy Anniversary Rachel and Dan!!
