When I say that Garrison surprised Alex with a proposal during their weekend trip to Pittsburgh, I mean HE. SURPRISED. HER. You will grin so big scrolling through this amazing proposal at Allegheny Landing, because Alex was completely taken off guard when Garrison pulled a ring out of his pocket and got down on one knee!! Stunned speechless! But she eventually recovered and gave Garrison the most enthusiastic YES of her life!

Garrison planned this moment months ago, knowing that he wanted to ask Alexandra to marry him while they were visiting Pittsburgh for a fun getaway weekend. They live in Virginia, but Alex has family from Pittsburgh and the city is such a special place to her. With much planning and top-secret location sharing (thank you, iPhone!), Garrison pulled off the perfect moment for his girl. It was an honor to be in on the planning of this proposal, and I think it’s safe to say Alex will remember this moment for the rest of her life! After Garrison popped the question and Alex recovered, we had a blast wandering around Allegheny Landing snapping pictures! The view of the Pittsburgh landscape from here is just unbeatable, and is everything I love about the city. We were also close to the Andy Warhol museum and the colorful back alley, so we popped over there before walking across one of Pittsburgh’s many famous bridges. Garrison and Alex wrote their initials and date on a lock, which they secured to the bridge before tossing the key into the water below. Such a fun afternoon of memories, and what a fun first day of being engaged for these two! Congratulations Garrison and Alex, thank you for letting me capture one of your best days that you’ll remember for the rest of your lives! :)
