Traditional Catholic Ceremony at Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel + Wedding Reception at The Lake Club | Poland OH | Maria + Stephen
There is just nothing like a big ol’ Youngstown Italian wedding! All weddings are amazing, of course, but the energy (and noise levels) of two Italian families coming together to celebrate a wedding….now that’s a party of it’s own kind. Maria is a native of Youngstown, and she met Stephen when she moved to Chicago. Their love story continued in Chicago where they began building a life together, and last March Stephen surprised Maria with an engagement proposal when they were back in Youngstown visiting Maria’s family. They brought it back to Maria’s hometown to tie the knot, and WHAT. A. DAY. The day was full of so many beautiful traditions and family ties. The Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was packed to the brim with family and friends, many who came from Stephen’s roots in New Jersey to cheer these two on in their new beginning. The party continued to cocktail hour on the lawn of The Lake Club in Poland, a reception that had quite literally everyone on the dance floor from beginning to end, to the AFTERPARTY that went back to the lawn into the wee hours of the morning. Listening to the toasts from the father of the bride, as well as Maria and Stephen’s closest friends, it was easy to see how much their families and friends-who-are-family just love them and support them in their marriage. Telling the story of this day was easy, because it was overflowing with so much joy from the bridal suite in the morning to the dance floor at night! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Montalto!!!
