End of October/early November is such a toss up on fall foliage, but this session just proves that you only need ONE tree with some leaves hanging on to make some fall portrait magic! The VanArsdale family session was scheduled for the first week of November, and the rainy/windy week prior dropped the leaves from every tree in Cuyahoga Valley National Park…..except for ONE! As I was scoping out the CVNP area to find a great meeting spot for us, I was sure that we had missed all the fall color Ohio had to offer us this year! But then I drove up to the Stanford House, and there was a beautiful yellow maple tree still boasting some foliage, and the ground below a blanket of leaves. This little spot turned out to be just magical, and Rachel, Jared, and their sweet toddler Harper and I had a blast literally just playing in the leaves! Harper loved crunching her way through the lawn, and tossing around handfuls of yellow leaves, laughing and shrieking and showering her mama and daddy with hugs and kisses galore. The nearby pond and field gave us some more beautiful fall tones, and tons of space for Harper to explore and play.

Rachel and Jared, thank you for a true “trust your photographer, this will be great!” kinda session, and for showing up ready to just play and have fun with your daughter. I clearly left with waaaay too many favorites, so good luck choosing which memories you’ll print for your home!
