Flying to Jamaica with your family and friends to say I Do to the love of your life in a little white chapel over the water might sound like something from a movie, but it is Meghan and Gene‘s TRUE WEDDING STORY!!! And I am still pinching myself that this past week in Whitehouse, Jamaica was real life! Meghan and Gene’s destination wedding story and all of the joy and love that surrounded their week in paradise is something I will remember for a lifetime. These two invited me along as their wedding photographer, but they both share an amazing quality where they can make anyone in their presence feel like family. Meghan and Gene go above and beyond to show the people in their lives how much they value and cherish them, and they just know how to love people well. And it is easy to see how much their family and friends love them! When they decided to get married in Jamaica, they knew that not a lot of people might not be able to join them, and maybe it would be only them. They couldn’t have been more wrong!! 15 of their closest people booked their tickets and headed to the island to celebrate alongside the couple, and what a PARTY this was!
One of the things I admired most about Meghan and Gene’s entire wedding day was how laid back everything was. She bought her dress a week before the wedding, they picked out their reception location, cake, and flowers the day prior, and nothing felt stressful. Their main priority was enjoying their time in Jamaica with everyone they loved, and everything else was just details! From the moment Gene saw his bride for the first time at their First Look, until the music stopped at the end of the night, I don’t think either of them stopped smiling for a second! This day was a long time coming, and their love story is amazing. From growing up fishing together, to all the twists and turns that followed in the years to come, Meghan and Gene have years of memories and experiences that brought them to this incredible wedding day.
Mr. and Mrs. Mock, you two are something special!! I can never express my gratitude for inviting Ben and I to be a part of your destination wedding celebration, it was an experience we will never forget! You inspire us with the way you love each other, and I know your story will just continue to get better and better. Thank you for counting us as family and letting us share in this special week with you! We love you so much!
****I have to give a shoutout to my husband Ben, who served as both my assistant AND second shooter for this wedding day! I could not have done it without him!
