When you live in Ohio and winter feels like an endless time warp with no sunshine in sight, a getaway in Florida is a dream come true!! Pulling off a family vacation with so many work/school schedules to coordinate is no easy feat, but we did it! Ben’s parents Betsy and Dan planned an AWESOME family vacation to the historic city of St Augustine, Florida, and we crammed as much as we could into our long weekend getaway! If you’re into history at all, add St Augustine to your list of places you need to visit. It’s the oldest city in the US, with over 450 years of history to explore. Crazy!! You only have to be in the downtown area of the city for a few minutes before you’ll quickly be introduced to the trolley system – the BEST way of getting around the city and seeing it all, with a history lesson to boot! We toured the historic jail and general store, the Lightner Museum, did a group walking tour of the city at nighttime, a sunset sailboat ride, and a brief visit to the beautiful beach of St Augustine. It’s amazing how much you can fit into just a few days! I put together a little home movie of our trip, and remembered to snap a few photos in between all the fun – check it out!
