Every once in a while, I have a session that makes me fall in love with photography all over again.  Getting to capture the history of a family, the moments that will hang above the mantel and be displayed in frames for all to see, is such a very great honor.  I made the trek to the Bundy family farm in Ostrander, Ohio last week to hang out with this awesome group for the afternoon, and I knew we were in for a good time when I found this Napa Valley-loving family preparing an incredible picnic spread for their family session.  That is the way to do it!  Crack open the wine and let’s have ourselves a great time!  The family property is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous fields and woods and a creek running through it all.  We laughed and chatted and they shared their stories with me and I loved every minute of it.  The Bundy family memories are rich with stories from throughout the years, and you can see by the way they interact with each other that their loyalty and roots run deep.  I left our time together feeling so inspired and thankful to have met this group.  When we were finished, Kris said that it was like “photo therapy” – and I loved that!  Family photo sessions should absolutely be a time to reconnect as a family, and what an honor to be able to use my camera as a tool to help families slow down have some fun for an evening.

Gil, Kris, Grandma Carol, Brooke, Ed, Brad, Lauren, and Paige – I had the best time with you!  Thank you so much for inviting me to your farm and into your lives, I hope you cherish these moments as a family for years to come!

Gil + Kris, the roots of this beautiful family.  They have been married for 33 years, and have been learning from each other and embracing spontaneity at every chance they can.  That sounds like a recipe for a wonderful marriage to me :)
