When you visit Daniela and Paul’s home on a quiet neighborhood street in Columbus, you’ll find a scrapbook next to their couch: “The History of Paul & Daniela.” Flip through the pages and you’ll find memories as high school sweethearts, best friends, and partners in life. Paul and Daniela just go together, in that comfortable way that makes you feel like you’ve known them for years when really you’ve just met. These cuties are getting married next year, and when they mentioned they’d love to have engagement portraits taken in Columbus, I was on board for the adventure! We began in their very home, my favorite place to photograph. Home is where memories are made and life is being built together, where you can dance in the living room and laugh as loud as you want. From there Daniela and Paul took me to some of their favorite places on Ohio State University’s beautiful campus where they both graduated from, and downtown in the Short North neighborhood, home of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. You better believe we ate some of that delicious ice cream, too! We ended the evening down by the waters of the Scioto river, with a sunset that only added to the magic of the day.
Daniela and Paul, I had the best time with you two. It was so great finally getting to meet you in person, although I already felt like I knew you because you are both just those kinda people. Your warm personalities and hospitality made me feel so welcome in your home, and I loved seeing some of your favorite places in Columbus! I think these images capture your relationship so well: the comfort you have with each other, the love you share, and the fun you can have no matter where you are. Here are just some of my favorites…

You know it’s an awesome neighborhood to take pictures in when a wall like this is just waiting for you by the sidewalk where you parked the car!
