If you live anywhere near the Youngstown, Ohio, area and you hear the words “Canfield Fair,” many things come to mind: french fries, 4H, demolition derby, the Big Rock, lemon shakes, tractors. Here in Youngstown, the Canfield Fair is the best time of the year! The grand conclusion to summer, the Labor Day party, the back-to-school kick-off. Summer just isn’t over until you make a trip to the fair. This year I got to join Brian and Lisa and their cuties Landon and Taylor during their evening at the fair, and this is one of my favorite family sessions of all time! Storytelling photography is awesome because it captures memories in such a unique and different way than traditional portraits. These moments captured following Taylor and Landon as they explored the animal barns, and licked dripping ice cream, and squealed over the ferris wheel are so memorable because they are so THEM. Visiting the fair with kiddos and seeing the joy through their eyes was awesome. Lisa and Brian I hope you cherish these memories made as a family at the Canfield Fair!
This pink tractor matches Taylor’s cowgirl boots!
Landon LOVES his tractors!
Lisa actually made this dress for Taylor by hand! Without a pattern or anything! Wow!
Lisa’s grandparents were very involved in the 4H, and there is a plaque in the 4H building celebrating them and their impact on their community!
We ended the adventure with Crazy Cones!
Project 365!
Crazy question. Do you remember the stand which had that colorful ice cream cone?
I sure do! The crazy cone stand! I usually get one each year but did not see it this year! :(
