When you have a chance to getaway to the mountains, the only option is to go.  The wonderful man I am married to planned a surprise getaway to the White Mountains in New Hampshire, one of our favorite places we have been to.  We honeymooned in the charming little town of North Conway just eight months ago, and it was such a surprise to be able to visit here once more!  We revisited some of our favorite spots, and explored tons of new places.  From the coffeeshops in town, to the live music at hole-in-the-wall restaurants, to the mountain views and hidden waterfalls – North Conway is overflowing with places to discover.  I think we’ve still just scratched the surface, so I’ll patiently wait for the chance to go back to this mountain town once more.

 

Arethusa Falls!  What a beautiful place!

We thought it would be fun to swim in the falls after our hike….except it turns out that mountain waterfalls are a bit frigid, even in June!  Yikes!  Thanks for testing the waters first, Ben!

We drove to the top of Mt Washington, and were stunned by the views waiting for us.  Apparently the average visibility from the top is about 40 miles, but we just happened to make the journey on a clear, sunny day.  The visibility was 100 miles in the distance!  Wow!
