Zach planned out his proposal to Katie down to the very last detail.  They spent the summer day on the strip at Geneva-on-the-Lake, and Zach surprised Katie with a boat ride out on Lake Erie where – you guessed it – he popped the question!  Of course Katie said yes, and several months later we revisited the same place where they spent that wonderful day together.  This summer hot spot made a great location for K & Z’s engagement session, and I LOVE when couples want to use locations that are important to their relationship in some way (click HERE to read my suggestions on how to pick a great location!).

 

 

 

 

Now the middle of January was not quite as warm as the summer weather, but Katie and Zach are so in love that you probably won’t even be able to tell that their teeth are chattering in these pictures.  Also, Zach has a mohawk and wore red pants and a bow tie, and you know how I love a good fashion statement!  Oh and I should also include my not-so-secret envy of Katie’s bangs.  This gal has the BEST hair!  Gah!

 

Katie and Zach, you guys rock!  You love each other, you love the Lord, and you let it all come pouring out of you in the greatest possible way.  I have a feeling this is going to be one fun wedding coming up in May, and I can’t wait to be a part of your day!  Enjoy these memories :)

The wonderful owner of The Old Firehouse Winery invited us inside to warm up by their fire in between shots.  We thawed out inside, and even snapped some pics since we had the whole place to ourselves!

We ended our shoot with a bottle of wine at the Firehouse Winery, where Katie and Zach enjoyed dinner the day they were engaged!

I cheated and snagged this one from Zach’s Facebook, but you all just have to see the proposal for yourselves!!  Zach secretly asked the boat driver to snap some pics on his phone when he popped the question, what a great memory!
