Know what my favorite smell is after Cool Citrus Basil lotion which Bath&Body Works discontinued without consulting me?  New lens smell.  Crack open that golden Nikon box, take a big breath in…..ahhhhhh.  New lens smell.  They need to make candles of it.  I got to enjoy that scent all day yesterday because guess what I got?  The 35MM 1.8!!!!!  Yayayay!!  If you aren’t really into photography then those numbers probably don’t really mean that much to you, but just know that it equals awesomeness.  I was researching and debating this lens for a while.  My friend and fellow photographer Kelsey was kind enough to loan me hers for the weekend, and after a few clicks I was sold.  This lens has excellent performance in low-light situations, which is important for shooting wedding ceremonies in darker venues, as well as receptions.  It is also a great wide-angle lens for capturing all the details of a scene without anything or anyone being left out- large family portraits, bridal parties, landscapes, etc.

Needless to say, I am SUPER excited about the newest addition to my little lens family!
