Some wedding days just remind you of the legacy that lies within marriage. A wedding day is more than reciting vows and taking pretty pictures, it is two families literally becoming one, and all the history and unique qualities that each person brings with them into this new marriage. Emmalee and Jamison celebrated their wedding day in Emmalee’s hometown of Youngstown OH, at the historic Powers Auditorium in the DeYor Performing Arts Center downtown. These two actually met just a couple blocks away from the venue when they were both journalists at The Vindicator several years ago! Jamison had moved to Ohio from his home in Maine to accept a new job opportunity, and little did he know that he would find so much more than that here in the Rust Belt. Their mutual love for journalism was woven into their day, with Emmalee’s collection of vintage typewriters serving as table centerpieces. Family photographs and wedding cake top toppers lined a table at the venue, paying homage to their families and the legacy of marriage that they chose to honor. Emmalee wore not one, but TWO stunning wedding gowns! For the ceremony she wore her grandmother’s vintage wedding dress, sewn by her great-grandmother back in 1957. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as we watched Emmalee’s grandmother see her in her gown for the first time! And the groom showed off his custom navy suit, complete with their wedding date sewn into his jacket and his initials embroidered on his sleeves. I think I have to say that Emmalee and Jamison’s First Look was one of my favorite moments of their day – seeing them excitedly show off for each other was so sweet! From the morning getting ready at Emmalee’s grandma’s house to all the fun on the dance floor that evening, this was a day that I don’t think anyone will soon forget!
Congratulations Emmalee and Jamison! It was an honor to share this day with you, and to tell your own wedding story. Being the amazing journalists that you are, I have no doubt that you’ll be writing an amazing story in your own marriage!

You know how there’s just some things at Grandma’s house that you LOVE? Emmalee has always loved these brass cranes growing up, and they were even decked with their own bowtie and veil to celebrate her wedding day!
Gubba seeing her granddaughter in her wedding dress for the first time.
We took a walk down memory lane and flipped through Gubba’s wedding album from 1957!
Meanwhile, Allison got to hang out with the guys at the amazing new DoubleTree Hotel downtown!
The First Look!!!
The Whistle & Keg on Federal Street let Jamison and Emmalee pull the whistle! This whistle is from one of Youngstown’s original steel mills!
And of course we had to stop at The Vindicator! Where it allllll began!
Amazing bouquets by Tara Fodor, as always!
Ceremony time! The stage inside Powers Auditorium is just stunning!
I think Jamison’s vows had us all a little teary.
Emmalee and Jamison are the proud parents of their fur baby Winston. Since he couldn’t make it to the wedding day, they had a lifesize cardboard cutout made of him that they brought along!
We snuck out of the party for some sunset portraits on Federal Street! You guys, the forecast was calling for THUNDERSTORMS all day, and we had nothing but blue skies and sunshine. What a blessing!
Emmalee changed into her BHLDN wedding gown for the reception, and I just love this dress!!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cocklin!!!
