Our time here in the Pacific Northwest is winding down, so we have been making every effort to check off as many things from our travel to-do list as we can. Over Easter weekend, Ben and I took a little road trip along the Oregon coast, and this just may be one of my favorite mini trips to date! We hopped on the scenic Pacific Coast Highway 101 down through Washington and into Oregon, stopping at every beach along the way just to ooh and ahh over all the surrounding beauty. We’ve seen the beaches of southern California and the east coast of New England, and the Pacific Northwest beaches just have their own special beauty that is so unique from anywhere else in the country. Surrounded by pines and often enclosed in the ever-present fog, the Oregon coast line was more beautiful than anything I was envisioning it to be.
This adventure included a fair amount of good coffee, live music, new towns, and even new friends thanks to Airbnb. Gary and Nora were our hosts in Lincoln City, and our evening with them was such a grand time! Gary and Nora are both Irish musicians, and next thing you know a guitar ends up in Ben’s hands and those guys were singing the night away! From Lincoln City we wandered down to the charming nautical town of Yachats, where we stayed at the historic Drift Inn. Our drive home we detoured through Portland and visited the famous Stumptown Coffee – it’s just as good as they say!
Now I’m no videographer, but for a while now I’ve wanted to try using the video feature on my camera! After a few YouTube tutorials and a lot of trial and error, I started to get the hang of it! I made a little video of our road trip, I hope you enjoy it!
The famous Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach! So impressive in person!
Gary and Ben played together and you’d never know it was their first time! What talent!
Gary and Nora play in an Irish band, we got a little sampling of their Celtic tunes!
