Sometimes, you just gotta do you.  And when it comes to planning a wedding, sometimes that means throwing all tradition out the door!  Deanna and Matt did just that, and the result was one AMAZING hand-crafted, unique, simple wedding celebration with family and friends.  In the age of Pinterest, these two proved that it’s not the centerpieces or 10 piece band that make a wedding celebration great.  It’s not the elaborate decor or the bridal party or the 3 course dinner.  Spending this day with Deanna and Matt was so refreshing, and such a great reminder that all you really do need is love – hey, the Beatles were right!

I met Deanna and her mama Anna at their hotel room where they were getting ready, and began photographing as Deanna curled her hair in the bathroom, laughing and sharing stories.  She wasn’t nervous, just excited.  She put on her jewelry, gave her mom one last hug, and we were off to the corn maze to meet Matt!  Now before you start wondering how on earth they decided to get married at this corn maze in New Springfield, Ohio, you should know that this is not just any corn maze.  Maze Craze is where Matt took Deanna on their first date!  Well the story varies depending on who you ask…Deanna says this was the first date that she actually agreed was a date.  However the story goes, the corn maze holds importance in the story of their relationship, so they decided to ask the owners if they might be able to hold a small wedding ceremony there.  The owners agreed that it was a random question, but happily agreed to host the celebration!  The forecast was calling for thunderstorms, but there was nothing but blue skies and sunshine and fluffy white clouds as Matt got to see his bride for the first time.  They laughed, they high fived, they soaked it all in.  Acoustic music played as guests found a seat and witnessed Deanna and Matt exchange their vows, with the wind rippling through the corn and a fair amount of laughs sprinkled throughout the ceremony.  Guests headed to Alberini’s to begin the dinner festivities while I got to hang out with the newlyweds, running through the corn maze and having way too much fun before the thunderstorm broke loose.  It’s not every day you get a corn maze all to yourself, we took full advantage!  We even had an Allison In Wonderland inspired tea party – YES, there was cake.  We ate it.
