If we left Washington and I didn’t share a post on the wonderful, rainy city of Seattle, that would be a shame! We have made several mini trips to Seattle from Tacoma, and it’s awesome having such a great place to visit right at your fingertips. If you’re like me and you always think of Seattle being rainy, dreary, and full of coffee – you’re right! That pretty much sums up Seattle! I think only one of our visits didn’t involve rain! But much like the rest of the Pacific Northwest, everyone simply embraces the dreary weather and pops open their umbrellas. All the good coffee makes the dreariness a little better too.
Seattle is home to Pike Place Market, the original Starbucks, the famous Space Needle that makes the Seattle skyline so recognizable, street musicians on every corner, and no shortage of farmer’s markets or unique eating establishments. I have to say though, even with all the incredible things to explore in Seattle, I could probably just spend the entire day walking around Pike Place Market. The hustle and bustle of crowds moving through the vendor stalls, fresh fruit piled high, artists showcasing their crafts. This is my happy place. And yes I was a total tourist and made Ben take pictures of me in front of the famous Market sign AND the original Starbucks. No shame here!!
Here is the briefest glimpse at the magic of Seattle from several of our visits there – I admit that I was too busy falling in love with the city that I didn’t take as many photos as I should have. Enjoy!
Me in full tourist mode!!
Yes that is a gum wall. GROSS.
Me at the original Starbucks, no big deal.
Ben and I got to see the city from the Sky View Observatory, and can you believe we got to see a rainbow too!!
Last week we discovered Alki Beach, which is just outside the city and lets you see the awesome Seattle skyline from the beach!
My Ohio friends Rachel and Ben came to visit Seattle! So great to see these faces!
