When planning engagement sessions, I always tell my couples to think of places that are meaningful to their relationship. Beautiful locations are nice and all, but beautiful locations that MEAN something are even better! Rachel and Jack LOVE spending time in Pittsburgh, a city with no shortage of awesome things to see and do! They both love museums, and the theater, and the hustle and bustle of that city life. To make downtown Pittsburgh an even more important piece of their story, this is where Jack proposed to Rachel! So when they suggested the idea of spending the day in Pittsburgh for their engagement session, I was totally on board! We had the most gorgeous day for this session, with blue skies and sunshine and finally a break in the summer humidity. Perfect photo shoot conditions! We walked over to Point State Park to hang out at the fountain for a bit, then made our way through downtown and into the theater district. Amidst all the buildings and traffic, we even stumbled upon the most beautiful little nook of green ivy growing on the buildings! It was like a hidden jungle! We made it to one of the iconic yellow bridges of downtown Pittsburgh right at sunset, which was my first time actually ever walking across one! And for our grand finale, we ended at the West End Overlook – the very spot where Jack asked Rachel to marry him. Talk about a perfect day! Rachel and Jack are two of the coolest, most down to earth, BEAUTIFUL people I’ve ever met, and I just know their wedding day is going to be amazing!! Enjoy some of my favorites from our adventure day in downtown Pittsburgh!
So many people at the fountain! But we still managed to find a little spot in there!
Marquee lights always add a bit of romance!
The magical ivy jungle! Right in the middle of downtown!
When the car stopped at the light on your corner is blaring the good tunes, you have to stop for a dance party. Obviously.

We made it to the bridge! This was so fun!
What a view to end the night with – wow!
They are actually the cutest. And is it just me, or does Rachel look like Angelina Jolie?
